We adopted our dog, a Shepherd mix on August 1. We love our dog,. She was quite nervous but now, after 4 months she knows that she has a home.
KCAS did a very good job with explaining what we might expect and a time frame necessary to her adjustment.
We take walks every day and practice obedience during our walks. I so appreciate that KCAS provides shelter and care for so many homeless animals.
The staff were very friendly, honest and helpful. Showed concern dogs and me to get a good match. Did not get the perfect match today. Really appreciate the staffs honesty. Instead of them just giving us a dog without any concern
Very helpful, nice people, not at all what I expected... in a good way! I'm missing my kitty
Dropped off some donation items in the entryway bin. It was great to find out they accepted blankets, towels, pet carriers and various pet items. I was downsizing, and it was a relief not to just throw these items in the trash.
The people who work here are great! The shelter has so many furry friends looking for their forever home. If that's not a option please do like I do, and volunteer. It's so much fun, great exercise, and the animals love the attention!
I had a great experience when I adopted our family dog Stephen. He had some quirks and they were very upfront about it. By knowing this, it allowed me to make a decision regarding the work i was willing to put forth. I decided to take him home and give him a chance. He is such a good fit for us! They are very good about making sure that the the family and the animal are a good fit. Otherwise this could have led to a frustrating situation If they wouldn't have disclosed the information in the beginning. They really do care about the animals and families there.
Kept my Rufus St..L'Amour overnight and was safe and sound for me to get him the next day. ❤️
I loved how they did a compatibility test to make sure the animals are going into homes with people that best fit their personality. Originally went to pick up a different dog but fell inlove the second "Casey" (now daisy) walked into the room and laid her head on me. She makes a great emotional support animal and im overall grateful for my experience with this shelter and finding my forever baby 💗
